The New Zealand whisky is made from regional ingredients. Thomson Whisky originally started as an independent bottler and launched its own craft distillery in 2014, which is located on the grounds of the Hallertau Brewery in Riverhead. Malt from premium barley from the South Island of Canterbury serves as the basis for the Single Malt. For the Manuka Wood Smoke, this is smoked over Manuka wood and a gentle smokiness is created. The creation is distilled on two Copper Pot Stills and matured in Bourbon, wine casks and converted small 20 litre casks.
